A hilarious night of standup comedy, community building, ‘Fun-Raising’, and a pre-holiday celebration to benefit the Harvard Kennedy School New England Alumni Association.
Jimmy Tingle will host the event and live auction featuring Harvard alumni currently working as standup comics locally and nationally.
Jimmy Tingle: 2010; Harvard Kennedy School; MPA @jimmytingle Jimmy is the founder of Humor for Humanity and was a 2018 candidate for LT Governor of Mass. He’s appeared on The Tonight Show, Conan O’Brien, and HBO, and was a commentator and humorist for 60 Minutes II and MSNBC. He is a board member and former president of HKS New England Alumni Association.
Zachary Brazão: 2016; concentration in Social Studies. Zach started performing in the Boston area in 2015, was a finalist in the 2017 Boston Comedy Festival and placed third in the Massachusetts Funniest Person contest at Laugh Boston. He’s traveled the festival circuit as well, including the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, Cleveland Comedy Festival, and Rogue Island Comedy Festival, and brought his unique “homegrown” sense of humor all the way to Calgary, Canada.
Hanna Evensen: 2016; concentration in Social Studies, 2ndary in Earth and Planetary Sciences. Hanna started performing in 2016, moved to Vienna, Austria and was soon headlining and selling out shows throughout the European circuit. Back in the US, she won the Rooster T Feathers comedy competition and finished as a semi-finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2018. She is in her final year of law school at Harvard and hoping to make enough money from comedy to support her lawyering hobby.
Jess Fleischer: 2010; concentrated in history and literature. Jess performs comedy all over NY City from the basements of Greenwich Village to the roast battles at The Stand to the prestigious New York Comedy Club. She’s appeared in the Boston Comedy Festival and the Devil’s Comedy Festival in NY City. When she’s not doing comedy, she’s getting a Ph.D. in British history.
Ethan Herschenfeld: 1990; concentrated in English and American Literature and also dabbled in Languages and Sciences. While at Harvard, he performed in many Harvard Radcliffe Dramatic Club productions. He is an accomplished opera singer, comedian and actor. Look for him in his upcoming TV appearances including Castle Rock (Hulu), and The Plot against America (HBO). He organized the first Harvard alumni comedy show at the New York Harvard Club in 2018, which became the catalyst for tonight’s event.
Tommy O’Regan: 2015; concentrated in Government and played hockey. Tommy started performing in 2016 and in 2017 won “Best Newcomer” at the Manhattan Comedy Festival. He’s written and acted in Barstool Sports’ “Variety Hour” sketch show and is the co-founder of the annual “Laughing with Your Buddies” charity show for the Travis Roy Foundation in which he recently opened for Bill Burr at The Wilbur Theatre in Boston.
