      HKS Volunteer Team at the 122nd Boston Marathon
For the fifth year in a row, the Harvard Kennedy School New England Alumni Association and current students are organizing an HKS Boston Marathon volunteer support team. Take advantage of the fact you are in Boston and participate in this world-renowned event!       The Implications of Tax Reform for US Business
On Dec. 22, President Donald Trump signed a $1.5 billion tax-cut bill in the largest tax reform since 1986. The tax bill made sweeping changes to corporate and individual taxes, with policy implications that are still relatively unknown.
Professor Robert Pozen, a tax policy expert and senior lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, has agreed to help us dissect the tax reform, with a specific focus on what the newly passed Act means for US corporations and pass throughs. He will also explain the Act’s different approach to taxing foreign profits of US firms. More...
 
        
      
      Prepare Taxes for Low Income Boston Residents
We are looking for HKS alumni to join the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. After a one-day training, you will be equipped to help low income Boston residents file their taxes and maximize their Earned Income Credit, a significant part of annual take-home for many low income citizens. Tax returns for many of these families means that they can continue to meet rent payments or put food on the table. More...
 
        
      
      Museum of Fine Arts Meet-Up!
Come join your fellow alumni for a night at the Museum of Fine Arts during the holiday season! There is free admission every Wednesday at MFA after 4 p.m. We will meet near the cocktail/appetizers bar and icicle tower across from the Sharf Visitor Center at 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and can tour as a group after or individually.       Cambridge 5K - 2017 Yulefest
Long before Christmas, there was a quirky winter festival named "Yule" that people really loved. Join HKS Alumni on 12/10 for a 5K race that takes the holidays back to their old school roots! Yulefest starts & finishes in front of Harvard Yard and is immediately followed by a festive block party that's sponsored by three local brewers.       HKS Alumni Trivia Nights at Kinsale
Come out to test your knowledge and have some fun with your fellow HKS grads at Trivia Night! Network and mingle from 6pm onward. Trivia runs from 7-9pm. Look for the HKSNEAA table when you arrive – we’ll form our own HKS team(s) and compete against as many as 20 other teams at the Kinsale. Competition is fierce, but the HKS team took first place at our last Trivia Night.

Learn about why they do it and how their HKS experience shaped their approach to public service and influenced their effectiveness as leaders.
Expected Moderator: HKS Professor David King: David C. King is Senior Lecturer in Public Policy at The Harvard Kennedy School and Faculty Chair of the Masters in Public Administration program.
Expected Panelist to Include:
- Tom O'Neill III, D: Former Lt Governor of Mass and son of legendary Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill. Founder of O'Neill Associates. 
- Marilinda Garcia, R: NH State Rep and former 2012 candidate for US Congress 
- Jeffery Sanchez, D: Mass State Rep from Jamaica Plain and newly appointed chairmen of the House Ways and Means Committee 
- David Hess, R: Served 25 years in New Hampshire House of Representatives. 
- Marjorie Decker, R: Currently serving her third term in the Massachusetts House of Representatives representing the 25th Middlesex District.
